Four hours into my first read-a-thon (I wasn’t able to start until 7:30 🙂 ) and I’ve read one book – 184 pages. I’m glad I started with the Mary Wesley – Second Fiddle was a lovely bit of comedy set in an English village populated by eccentric and endearing characters. It is racy and laugh-out-loud funny, and even a bit thought-provoking. A very pleasant read.
Since this is my first read-a-thon I have no set goals for total time spent reading or books finished – I’m setting my first record today. Now I’m off to poke around some other blogs and cheer for participants, then back to the books. I’m thinking I might tackle the Toni Morrison next. 🙂
Have fun reading that is more important.. Looks like u are enjoying this book..:) Good Luck

Hey, good luck on your first read-a-thon! You have passed the threshold whence there is no returning.
Also, that book looks awesome, though I am slightly scandalized by what appears to be a nekkid ass on the cover.

I just finished a book too – a total of 286 pages! That’s 3/4 of what I read during the entire Dewey Read-a-Thon!
I hope you enjoy Toni Morrison!

Reads4Pleasure – Glad you stopped by! I’ve been trying to post comments on your blog but Blogger hates me and I often can’t get my comments to appear, even if I post them under Anonymous… Frustrating. Anyway, yes, I read A Mercy. Super interesting. I’ll blog about it in a minute.
Raych – The cover is pretty funny! The author wrote her first book when she was in her 70’s, which just makes her more awesome. 😉
EL Fay – Yay, congrats. I love finishing books!
